House “Pod Jedlami

Built in 1897 and designed by Stanisław Witkiewicz, the House “Pod Jedlami” is widely regarded as the finest example of the Zakopane Style of architecture.
In Polish culture, the House “Pod Jedlami” is not only an architectural masterpiece but also a place of great historical and intellectual significance. For many years, it served as a gathering place for artists, writers, and intellectuals, influencing cultural life throughout the region and beyond.
The name “Pod Jedlami” (“Under the Fir Trees”) comes from the fir trees that once grew in the garden surrounding the house.
