The Main Building of the Tatra Museum is a valuable architectural monument in the Zakopane style, built between 1913 and 1922 based on the joint designs of Stanisław Witkiewicz (façade) and Franciszek Mączyński (technical design).
The new permanent exhibition features, among others, colorful skirts, wooden spoons, traditional bagpipes and fiddles from the Podhale region, a wooden model of Villa “Pod Jedlami,” a medieval sword, and an 18th-century sundial discovered in the Orawa region.
The exhibition also includes a collection of rocks and presentations of Tatra wildlife, such as marmots, bears, and chamois, as well as examples of granite, limestone, and quartz.
The building also houses a café and exhibition space that hosts temporary exhibitions
Due to the historic character of the building, it is not fully accessible for people with disabilities.
